Not Enough Time

I found myself going to Maryjo's last night. This place is amaaaaazzzzing! Take a look maryjos.com The bad? I had only 20 minutes to look before they closed! I HAVE to plan my time better!?
My goal: material for our bedroom drapes and Sophia's room. I'm debating making vs buying. Nothing has caught my eye - except for PB things. (Shocker).
I decided that I wouldn't have time to 'buy' but I could take pictures of the things that caught my eye. Sometimes I feel that is the way to shop: "pressure" vs "think too much".
It appears that I cover the spectrum from bright to muted tones.....guess I have to 'think' more!

The hipster bag

Thanks to Julie's suggestion I am going to make the hipster bag. After a trip to Vogue i was successful at finding fabric. Its a tad cliche but when in Paris.... the fabric is Waverly and a little canvasy which i really like! I wanted to go way out in my fabric choice but the truth is Parisians are so stylish that i decided to stick with my usual neutral palette!

Initially i talked myself out of making this bag, looks so difficult but then I read a review on the pattern and decided to give it a whirl. Is it not totally cool to find a review about a pattern? For you iPad peeps there is now a pattern modification for your sewing pleasure!

Musings

It appears that I'm rather obsessed with gray/silver combinations lately - in my knitting, in my home dec decisions, and once again, in my sewing. I bought this gray polka dot to go with my favorite lemon material. I also spied some butterfly material to make Sophia a dress (below.)

I also was trolling around looking for possible projects. Since my sewing machine is packed away, all I can think about is sewing. sigh
My absolutely most favorite thing to do when it gets warmer, is to sit on my deck in the early morning, drinking coffee, stalking the internet, with my dogs at my side and the birds singing merrily. This morning, I discoveredthis post - I "know" how much we all love to cook so I thought I would share.

Enjoy your weekend!

Am I sewing? Hah

Well, I haven't done much sewing and now I can't because .... my floors are all torn apart and I can no longer get to my sewing machine. (Don't be too sad - this is a good thing.) To appease my sewing deficiency, I am stalking the internet and pinterest looking for interesting things. Here's one - 20 interesting things to do with old sweaters including ideas and tutorials!
