It appears that I have an obsessive personality ~

Read a post by "Stitched on the Farm" which for some reason I cannot locate right now but became motivated to try the Cheeseboard's grilled pizza dough recipe. It was easy with my (Chris') new kitchen-aid, woot. Had a little difficulty getting the dough to be a circle but, it was delicious. Jake rebelled initially "being tired of all the weird food we cook." However, he quickly turned around ...

Jake's pizza is on the left, mine on the right.

This week, I consulted the Cheeseboard book once again, and, this week: The Sourdough Starter.

Bunting Outcome

Remember my previous angst about the bunting? Well Abigail thought it was the coolest and here is the proof! I was so worried she might think it ridiculous but instead she squealed "awesome for my new (dorm) room!" My sister was a little off in the color descriptions (she said more orange/green and when i look at the quilt its more red/pink) for my taste but oh well!

Dresses for the nieces -

I'm finally getting around to chatting about my recent "dress for Sophia" dilemmas. I ended up making both dresses in a size 6 and NOT paying attention to the actual measurements that were given as to what Sophia and Majka's measurements actually were.

The results: The Oliver S dress, easy peasy to make fit beautifully AND the other dress (mentioned here) after chatting with Julie, it "could" have happened that I cut-out the wrong bodice (I really can't say 100% that I cut out the right one.) sigh

Anyway, I have to tell you, I'm rather obsessed about this fabric - the lemon fabric (I purchased it at Joanne's in Round Lake.) I absolutely love it. Majka (far left) says the dress makes her feel happy. Sophia towards the right, had no such input.

I would absolutely recommend the Oliver S pattern!

Quilt Group Re-grouping

Hi Everyone!

Michelle has not been able to log into the blog for months. Its so sad... but I am going to post here that I think we need to energize ourselves once again with a fall PROJECT! Could you please post ideas so we can think about a new direction?

I wondered if we also wanted to make a fall fabric field trip (F3t!) to a new and fun store! Please post your suggestions!

Things I want to make!

I would be super annoyed way back when, in the days of my O magazine subscription, at the "Things i love" pages. I would simultaneously love them as well as hate them because most items fell into the price category of "well yeah, on oprah's salary I could purchase it, or entertain the thought to purchase!"

Enter my fondness for the blogosphere or what I am calling, "Things i want to make!" This week on  Thimble  I eye spied the freshest and coolest sewing machine cover. I love the off kilter pattern of the squares and am also considering purchasing the book, Fresh Quilting which contains the pattern. Thoughts my lovelies?

Also check out this cool new ezine, Kinfolk! Way cool... and i am trying not to consider this is my last week of unfettered crafting...

In the meantime, back to my scrumptious prosecco and burrata!

Patios and outdoor living

Charles and I have spent a large part of summer trying to determine what kind of outdoor space we want for our house. In A-town i designed an awesome paver patio living space that we had built but the plan is not reproducible in IL for many reasons most of which deal with the lack of privacy in our back yard. While we wait for our trees to grow up as well as our neighbor's adolescents we ponder and think. Several ideas currently ruminating are a large back porch ala NOLA and a large tri-pointed awning to cover the deck in the thinking time ahead.

One of my fave bloggers is Prudent baby  because her ideas are super cute with awesome instructions and fairly easy for a beginner, ahem - me! Over the last month she has chronicled the coming together of her totally awesome outdoor space! This week she discusses how to make a pallet daybed which is just too cute and also how to make the tri-corner awning that we have been looking at purchasing! Not that i could do it but she makes a good case for creating what you want using your own brain and ingenuity! I really love that!
